The right eye fundus examination of a 13-year-old girl with visual acuity 6/6 in both eyes showed a single pigmented cyst, floating freely in the vitreous cavity with no associated inflammation [Figure 1]a. B-scan ultrasound revealed an echolucent cyst in the vitreous cavity [Figure 1]b. The cyst remained stable at a 3-year follow-up. Vitreous cysts can be congenital or acquired. Congenital vitreous are incidental findings in an otherwise normal eye.[1] They are considered to be choristomas of the primary hyaloidal system. They are derived from the pigment epithelium and contain immature melanosomes.[2] They usually do not progress and are visually insignificant. | Figure 1: (a) Fundus photo showing a pigmented cyst in the vitreous cavity of the right eye.
